Commercial Jazz Class with Stuart Hayes

Is very excited to have Stuart joining us at The Dance Studio Leeds.

Stuart is a leading industry professional who has an enormous wealth of experience:

Stuart has worked for many of the worlds leading artists from Cher to Diana Ross, Steps to the Saturdays!!! His dance credits include Jamillia, Spice Girls, Kylie Minogue, The Wanted and most recently Dannii Minogue where he was dance captain and Assistant choreographer. His experience spans from live TV shows, to concerts to music videos and more! Stuarts teaching takes him all over the UK, where he lectures and takes workshops giving a REAL insight into the industry.

The new classes will start on Tuesday 14th September 2010 at 6-7pm.

This open class is perfect for Professional dancers, ex dancers and dancers looking to get into the industry and further their potential.

Leeds City Harmony

Well on Friday my friend and I went to watch Leeds City Harmony perform at the Hifi Club in the city centre. They had created a really nice cosy setting inside with fairy lights illuminating the stage. I was excited to see these guys as they had been practising for their performance at the studio over the last few weeks. When I went to lock up after one of their sessions, I caught a bit of their rehearsal and their harmonies sounded brill! Another draw for me personally was the group seemed to be a young bunch, all fairly similar in age to me, something which generally I don't come across with choirs. Their choice of music also reflected this with renditions of Mika, Glee, Elbow and other current songs. A few of the older classics were also cleverly mixed in alongside a few cultural songs including one sung in Welsh. All of these added to a great mix of songs - something for everyone as they say! They all had great voices and the fantastic relationship between the group memebers was really apparent. Guest performers at the event included a set by the 'Honey Drum' whose carnival rhythms were undoubtedly infectious. I don't believe anybody who says they weren't at least tapping their foot along!!
